  1. Exodus 20:1-8 "I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected-even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands. You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse His name. Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy."

  2. Psalm 1:1 "Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers."

  3. Psalm 120:6 "I am tired of living among people who hate peace. I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!"

  4. Proverbs 3:31 "Don't pick a fight without reason, when no one has done you harm. Don't envy violent people or copy their ways."

  5. Proverbs 4:24 "Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech."

  6. Jeremiah 11:13 "Look now, people of Judah; you have as many gods as you have towns. You have as many altars of shame-altars for burning incense to your god Baal-as there are streets in Jerusalem." Food for thought: what is the most important place in your town, city?

  7. Ezekiel 23:36 "The Lord said to me, "Son of man, you must accuse Oholah and Oholibah of all their detestable sins. They have committed both adultery and murder-adultery by worshiping idols and murder by burning as sacrifices the children they bore to me. Furthermore, they have defiled my Temple and violated my Sabbath day! On the very day that they sacrificed their children to their idols, they boldly came into my Temple to worship! They came in and defiled my house."

  8. Zephaniah 1:5 "They claim to follow the Lord, but then they worship Molech, too."

    NEW TESTAMENT

  9. Matthew 5:21-22 "You have heard that our ancestors were told, you must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment. But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgement! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell." Food for thought: Vince Lombardi said, "To play this game you have to have fire in you, and nothing stokes fire like hate."

  10. Luke 16:15 "What this world honors is detestable in the sight of God."

  11. Acts 17:30 "God overlooked people's ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now He commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to Him." Food for thought: Paul is speaking to Athenians worshipping NIKE and other idols.

  12. Romans 1:21-22 "And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshipping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles." Food for thought: man's praise for cowboys, birds, and animals representing each city on the helmet & stadiums.

  13. Romans 13:9-14 "You must not murder. You must not steal. You must not covet. These-and other such commandments are summed up in this one commandment: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Love does no harm to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God's law. This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don't participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. Instead clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ."

  14. 1 Corinthians 3:16-18 "Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple. Stop deceiving yourselves." Food for thought: The Boston University CTE Center's study found CTE in 345 of 376 former NFL Players studied with a prevalence rate of 91.7%.

  15. Galatians 5:19-24 "When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there."

  16. Ephesians 4:31 "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you."

  17. 2 Timothy 2:8 "In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. And I want women to be modest in their appearance."

  18. 2 Timothy 2:4-5 "Soldiers don't get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for they cannot please the officer who enlisted them. And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules."

  19. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!"

  20. Revelation 3:15-22 "I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold. I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me-

gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on His throne. Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what He is saying to the churches."
